Melissa is Chief of Staff of WBI Investments, Inc. (“WBI”), an investment management firm. Her duties include supporting the CEO and President as well as directing and supervising the administrative staff and executive services for the Firm. Melissa began her career at WBI in 1998. Prior to her role as Chief of Staff, Melissa acted in several different roles, including Retail Operations Supervisor, and supervisor to department including Technology, Corporate Operations, Bookkeeping, and Human Resources. Melissa is also an integral part of the WBI’s philanthropy program called WBI Gives Back.
Melissa enjoys volunteering. She was actively involved with the American Cancer Society for many years with their Relay For Life fundraiser. Over the years, she took on roles as participant, team captain, event committee member, and even event chair of the Relay For Life of Tinton Falls NJ. Melissa is a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an adult woman’s social and service sorority.
She has been involved as a volunteer for the Kortney Rose Foundation on and off for several years. Melissa earned a B.A. in Management from DeSales University. She also earned the Registered ParaplannerSM designation.
Melissa lives with her husband Bill in West Long Branch.
Wendy is a graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Princeton University, with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Wendy won the Bill Bradley Young Citizen Award in High School and has enjoyed volunteering with many organizations. She participated in five mission trips after Hurricanes Katrina and Ike to help rebuild houses for the storm victims. Her 26 year career in branch banking has led her to her role as Market Manager with Two River Community Bank, currently managing two of their branches located in West Long Branch and Freehold. Wendy is proud to work for Two River Community Bank, as it is an organization which takes pride in giving back to the community. Wendy is a member of the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Outreach Committee for St. George’s by the River and is on the Advisory Board for Kick Cancer Overboard.
Wendy has been a resident of Oceanport for the past 20 years and is the proud mother of two children.
Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Education and Arts Management from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She began her teaching career working with middle and high school students with learning disabilities at The Landmark School in Prides Crossing, MA. She realized quickly that this was her passion and went on to receive her M.A. in Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. Shortly after, she accepted the position of Director of Learning Support Services at The Hewitt School, NY. Her career continued as a Learning Specialist for over 20 years before making the decision to move to NJ with her husband, Michael, to raise a family. After participating in a music and movement class with their two young children, she decided to become a certified Music Together teacher and co-owned Music Together of Montclair until it was sold in 2010.
Kristen and Jennifer have been great friends since they were in grade school and Jennifer has volunteered for KRF since its beginning. Jennifer looks forward to furthering the depth of her work with the foundation as a board member.
Jennifer and Michael live in Montclair with their two children.
Joanne Fink grew up in New Vernon, NJ where she attended Harding Township Elementary School and Bayley Ellard High School. She then studied Art History at Chestnut Hill College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
For 11 years Joanne worked in several capacities at Silver Burdett and Ginn, and educational publishing company. For a number of years she was an editor of children’s reference books. She also wrote the English edition of Jack, the Seal, and the Sea while working there. The book was later selected as a Reading Rainbow book and was read by LaVar Burton for the show. After leaving the publishing world Joanne began working at Sports Care & Physical Rehabilitation, (now FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Center) a physical therapy practice in Little Silver. Joanne serves there as the Practice Administrator and Marketing Manager.
Joanne served several terms on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association at Chestnut Hill College. She was also President of the Chestnut Hill College Alumni Association for one term.
In her leisure time she enjoys golfing at Battleground Country Club, reading extensively, enjoying the company of her dogs, and traveling all over the world.
Richard Gillette is Kortney’s Father and has been involved in The Kortney Rose Foundation since inception. He has been a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 27 years.
He is a graduate of Nichol’s College where he studied marketing and went on to work in sales before entering the post office.
Rich and Kristen and their daughter Kasey live in Oceanport, NJ.
Eddie Oels is currently an independent contractor at O’Brien Realty, licensed to sell residential and commercial real estate in Monmouth and Ocean county. He has a true passion for the industry, and absolutely loves working with clients from contract to the closing table. He has been taking care of his two young boys since the first was born in 2010. His wife Danielle has been working at J.P. Morgan for the past 20 years in New York City.
Eddie and his wife, Danielle, live in Rumson with their two sons. The family enjoy outdoor activities, dining out and especially the beach. Eddie is heavily involved with Rumson Recreation and coaches his sons in several sports.
Michael A. Rescinio is a graduate of Monmouth University with a degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Accounting and holds CPA Certificates in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California. After spending several years with an international Big 6 accounting firm in the Metropolitan area, where he specialized in tax, he became a founding partner of Rescinio, Schibell & Co. in 1989. Mr. Rescinio’s areas of specialty include not-for-profit and tax-exempt entities; the resort and leisure industries; computer systems and analysis; construction contractors; real estate development, business valuations, and litigation support services.
Mr. Rescinio is also very involved in professional and community service. Among his involvements are the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Director and past president of the Long Branch Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Long Branch Clean Communities Advisory council. He has also served the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program on Monmouth University and Safe Havens, Inc. and currently is a member of the West Long Branch First Aid Squad.
Mike and his wife Sue live in Oceanport with their two children.
Jocelyn Rineer is Vice President of Field Operations at Agency Network Exchange (ANE). Prior to joining ANE, she served for fourteen years as Commercial Lines Marketing Manager at the E&K Agency. Upon joining ANE in 2013 as Field Sales Manager, Jocelyn established the field operations infrastructure for ANE. In early 2017, she was named an officer of the company and promoted to her current position. Rineer is the primary contact for ANE’s multi-state agency network member agencies. She works with member agency principals and their staffs to develop organic growth strategies, maximize carrier relationships and expand individual agency capacity to grow. Jocelyn holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, Certified Leadership Professional (CLP) designation and Certified Insurance Industry Professional (CIIP) designation.
Recognized by her colleagues for her knowledge and professionalism, Jocelyn was recruited in 2016 to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors for the Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey (PIANJ), where she serves as chair of the Women’s Business Forum and Membership Services/Program Committees. She is also past First Vice President, Programs for the Insurance Professionals of Monmouth County, Region I, International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP) and currently serves as their Recording & Communications Secretary.
Jocelyn is a long-time resident of Tinton Falls, New Jersey where she resides with her husband, Ronnie.
Elisabeth Wendel-Spurrier the youngest of five children and grew up in Upper Saddle River, NJ. She spent her teenage years volunteering as a candy striper at Holy Name Hospital where she was born. She shared this honor with her grandmother who worked in the gift shop as a senior volunteer and still holds her volunteer badge close to her heart as her grandmother was an immigrant from Austria and a woman with heart. Elisabeth spent her summers in Long Branch as her mother lived her early years there and they had kept the family home. She moved to Monmouth County in 1986 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business from Monmouth University.
Elisabeth is a mother of 6 children residing in West Long Branch, NJ. In 2007 she started the Kidz Kare foundation at Monmouth Medical Center with her eldest daughter Victoria as well as volunteering with the Valerie Center to help children in need.
Her background includes restaurant business over 25 years, Real Estate 10 years, as well as a mom supporting her amazing kids with masters and bachelors degrees from Rutgers and Harvard University.
Elisabeth currently resides with her husband Darren who is the director of coaching for soccer in Ocean township as well as working with Rumson soccer club. She is currently an owner at Joe’s Bagel and Grill in West Long Branch as well as continuing her real estate and volunteer work.
Sue is the owner/operator of a personal training and massage therapy business based in Oceanport since 2006. Prior to that, she owned and operated Red Bank Fitness personal training studio from 1999-2005.
Sue studied at Ithaca College where she earned a B.S. in Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation and then returned to complete her M.S. in Exercise Science in 1992.
Sue loves running and basically any form of exercise that is fun and challenging!
She has run 10 marathons and has completed a handful of sprint triathlons and Rugged Maniac mud runs.
Sue and Karl live in Oceanport with their three daughters.
Kristen Gillette is a graduate of Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. She is the Founder of The Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) established after the loss of their 9-year-old daughter to a brain tumor in 2006. From 2010-May 2017, Kristen worked full time as an office coordinator at Monmouth University while also running the foundation. She left that position to devote full time to the foundation, which is her true passion.
Prior to starting the foundation Kristen worked in the insurance and finance industry, as well as an aide at a nursery school.
